MEET OUR I2WANDERER OF THE WEEK
Every week, we are featuring a member of our travel community. We all have our own reasons to travel and stories to share. Let’s learn more about our very own Inspire To Wanderers. Would you like to be featured? The first step is to join the I2W Travel Community so you can learn more!
MEET NATASHA FROM THE UK
Meet Natasha – she’s a twenty-three year old traveller and blogger. She was brought up in the UK, and spent ten years living in New Zealand before returning to the UK, via a three month stay in Spain. And guess what? She’s now back living in Spain for the time being! Natasha caught the travel bug early, as her family travelled in a caravan a lot during her childhood.
Where is your favourite destination in the world and why?
I have two favourite places in the world, two quite contrasting locations. The first is New York City. There’s no words to describe the feeling of driving across the Hudson River and looking down the water and seeing the skyline for the first time. The city holds some sort of magic that I’ve never felt anywhere else! My other favourite place is Yosemite National Park. The whole park is amazing and inspiring. I only spent one full day in the park, but I’m so ready to spend some more time exploring.
Where is your next adventure? Tell us all about an upcoming trip!
I’m currently living in Seville, and over the next few months I plan to see as much of this city and country as possible. I’m then back in the UK for a few weeks before heading back to NZ for a few months!
What do you mostly like to see and do when you travel?
When I travelled the US last year, I discovered my love of hiking! It’s not something I’d done beforehand, and I feel like I’ve missed out! I also love cities, and getting lost in all the side streets, finding things you’d never see if you stuck to the tourist spots.
Is there anywhere you wouldn’t visit again, and why?
If I had to pick one place I’d been to and wouldn’t go back to, I’d pick Hartford, Connecticut. We visited the town, drawn to the scene’s we’d seen on Gilmore Girls. And either we’d spent time in the wrong part of town, or TV really isn’t real. It was still a beautiful city though!
What is your #1 travel goal that you hope to accomplish in the next year? The next 5 years?
Travel goal #1 is to find a remote/freelance job, similar to what I do here in Seville (digital marketing for a tour company). I would LOVE to spend 4-6 weeks in New York, immersing myself in the city, and afterwards, finding a summer job in the US/Canada. Within the next 5 years, I’d love to long term travel Europe and the US (again).
